Kick Butts Day
The Forsyth County TRU (Tobacco.Reality.Unfiltered) Youth Advisory Council is having
the first Kick Butts Day Carnival at Rupert Bell Park here in Winston-Salem on Saturday,
March 28th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a day for the entire community to speak
out against youth tobacco use and initiation, and to stand up for youth tobacco
prevention in Forsyth County. The Youth Advisory Council is hosting this event for
youth, parents, and families, and it is FREE. There will be lots of fun educational
activities for you to engage in, as well as, a Tobacco-Free Three-On-Three tournament
that youth can register for on that day.
Come out and join us as we work towards the first generation of tobacco-free teens
in North Carolina. For more information, contact Yalonda Miller at 336-703-3147.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Tobacco in the Movies
Nearly 2,050 adolescents will start smoking in the U.S. today. Tobacco use is prominent
in media that youth encounter every day. For more information, go to Scene Smoking website designed by youth.
